How to Responsibly Dispose of Surplus Corporate Equipment

  • April 23rd, 2013

Low Cost Office Furniture’s primary line of work is the responsible disposal of corporate assets. We do this in three primary ways; 1. Resale (at a fraction of the price of new) to companies that are interested in getting top-notch furniture, 2. Donation to non-profits, 3. Recycling of material.

It’s not unusual for companies that are moving or downsizing to simply walk away from their furniture in the hopes that a subsequent tenant or landlord will use what remains. This typically results in a landlord or tenant taking the responsibility of the disposal, and will be faced with the same issues that the original owner encountered.

Sometimes companies may leave the furniture disposition to a mover. Movers are not able to place the assets with end-users, non-profit organizations and recycling facilities as effectively as a liquidator who can use their expertise and experience to find the most effective use of the used equipment. Movers will also not give the best compensation for used equipment.

The best solution is to contact a professional liquidator to handle liquidation. Our firm has a nationwide network of wholesalers as well as end-users that buy the used products, and we have a large group of non-profits that we routinely donate to. We’re very careful to recycle any material that isn’t wanted by any active organization.

If your company is looking for an opportunity to put your old equipment back to work, please feel free to drop us an email or give us a call. We’re very experienced in providing organizations with equipment to liquidate with attentive service!

I totally agree when you said that most people would just leave their pieces of furniture in the property which will leave the owner of the property to have problems with those things, so it would be best to send them to a liquidation company instead. I will share this information with a friend of mine who will be downsizing their office due to the decrease in sales. This will help them to even get money that they will be needing right now. Thanks!
